ABOUT

Born near Atlanta, Georgia on a 36 acre farm, I had a strong connection with the outdoors as a child. This connection is what inspires my work in urban contexts, and my thoughts on our interaction with the built environment.

At Auburn University, I began to learn about vernacular architecture's passive responses to climate, to economic needs, and to local material sources. These historic precedents inform my exploration of contemporary sustainable practices in architecture.

After moving to Brooklyn in 2012, I was given the opportunity to design and to build the garden of a neighborhood bar in Williamsburg. This project lead to a fruitful partnership and small design-build enterprise that was maintained throughout my time in New York City. The knowledge I gained here continues to influence my architectural thinking.

In my professional life, I chose to focus on building skills in project management and in the software Revit, which has helped me to excel in both efficient and effective design documentation.
